López #79 jersey riding for team LL took an early lead at the start of the race in Belize city, then was trapped in the main peloton on the way to San Ignacio-Santa Elena near Belize’s western border with Guatemala, then was part of a 7 man team at the head of the race going back to Belize city shortly before midday.

López then sprinted and broke away from the lead pack near the Marion Jones Stadium in northside Belize city and crossed the finish line at Digi Park followed by second place finisher Rony Alex Julajuj #58 jersey UCI CODE GUA 19980215 from Guatemala.
