On Sunday 23 August 2026, Prime Minister Hon. John Briceño was formally received in Honduras by Pamela Handal Rivera, Subsecretary of State for Foreign Policy, marking the start of his official visit.
The Prime Minister is scheduled to meet with President Nasry Asfura as Belize and Honduras seek to strengthen bilateral relations and expand cooperation. Discussions are expected to focus on shared priorities and opportunities for deeper collaboration between the two countries.
Prime Minister Briceño is accompanied by a Kevin Bernard, Minister of Health; Narda Garcia, CEO Office of the Prime Minister; Julio Sabido, CEO Ministry of Health; and Oscar Arnold, CEO Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
During the official military reception, Prime Minister Briceño met with Belizean cadets Fernando Valladarez and Perfecto Aldana, who are currently studying at the Honduran Military Academy
